Basketball Game Preview: Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels vs. STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans

The Golden View Classical Academy Sentinels will take on the STEM School Highlands Ranch Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Golden View Classical Academy has seven straight victories, STEM School Highlands Ranch has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

While Golden View Classical Academy didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Twin Peaks Classical Academy by a score of 45-34 last Wednesday.

Golden View Classical Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jocelyn Le, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Le a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Mira Lensink, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.

Golden View Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, STEM School Highlands Ranch played a tough match on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Twin Peaks Classical Academy, falling 48-17. The Spartans were down 43-14 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

STEM School Highlands Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Golden View Classical Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
