Despite a strong season so far, The Piedmont Wildcats have seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They lost to Carl Albert on the road by a decisive 38-24 margin on Friday. Piedmont has struggled against Carl Albert recently, as their contest on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Carl Albert's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kevin Sperry, who threw for 312 yards and a touchdown while picking up 13.6 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Trynae Washington made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Piedmont's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Carl Albert, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Piedmont will head out on the road to face off against Elgin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Elgin will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. Carl Albert will take on El Reno at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. El Reno will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Carl Albert is ranked third).
