Byron has won six straight games at home, while Kasson-Mantorville has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Bears will host the Komets at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Byron 2.1, Kasson-Mantorville 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Byron had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Austin on Wednesday. The Bears were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Packers. Considering the Bears have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Mackenzie Steele and Calleigh Barrone made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Steele tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Barrone pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Steele went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Barrone went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Steele has posted since back in May of 2025.
