In other batting news, Cooper Ezersky was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Miller, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Carlisle didn't have quite enough to beat The Covenant last Thursday and fell 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Chiefs have suffered against the Eagles since May 11, 2018.
Mason Wood and Luke Carter did some serious damage despite the final result: Wood scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Carter scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Fishburne Military's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Carlisle, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fishburne Military has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 14 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Carlisle struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 14.3 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
