Baseball Recap: Center Hill Has No Trouble Against Olive Branch

Center Hill never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past the Olive Branch Conquistadors 10-0. Considering the Mustangs have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ryan Brunetz was a standout: he scored two runs while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Center Hill's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper McCool, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

The win made it two in a row for Center Hill and bumps their season record up to 8-8. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 5.21 in the others. As for Olive Branch, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Center Hill will take on Ripley at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Olive Branch, they will face off against Horn Lake at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
