Softball Recap: Heritage Academy Wins Going Away Against Anthem Prep

While Heritage Academy put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Anthem Prep. The Heritage Academy Heroes blew past the Anthem Prep Eagles 20-0. The result was nothing new for the Heroes, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sieana Soltero made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Rowan Asanovich was a standout: she scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. The team also got some help courtesy of Gloriann Blanco, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3.

Heritage Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in 13 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Heritage Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Anthem Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will face off against Horizon Honors at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Anthem Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Bagdad at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anthem Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.8 runs per game this season.
