The Hillcrest Huskies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They really took it to Stansbury for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-45 win at home. That looming 73-45 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Hillcrest yet this season.
It was another big night for Damani Wilkerson, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Hillcrest's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Tanner, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Stansbury lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jackson Hymer, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Tobi Johnson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Hillcrest's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Stansbury, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.
Hillcrest will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Olympus at 8:30 p.m. on December 27th. Olympus has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 523 points over their last seven contests. Stansbury and Durango will round out the year against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Durango knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Stansbury likes a good challenge.
