After having lost a blowout to Mansfield in their previous contest, Waldron were happy to find some success on Friday. Waldron were the clear victor with a 54-28 margin. They were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Waldron's success was spearheaded by the efforts of sophomore Braden Williams, who rushed for 95 yards and 1 touchdown, and senior Jarrod Starr, who rushed for 63 yards and 3 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Levi Hayden, who racked up 9 tackles.
The win got Waldron back to even at 1-1. Paris are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3.
Next week Waldron take on Danville at 7:00 PM. Paris will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Booneville in two weeks at 7:00 PM.
