Basketball Recap: Dunwoody Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dunwoody had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They skirted past the Arabia Mountain Rams 59-56. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 64-36 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.

Among those leading the charge was Eli Merritt, who went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Matt Corgile, who went 7 for 9 on his way to 16 points.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Julian Shanks, who went 7 of 12 en route to 14 points. Shanks is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Smith, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points.

Dunwoody's record now sits at 6-8. As for Arabia Mountain, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Dunwoody has already played their next matchup, a 50-42 win against Shiloh on the 17th. As for Arabia Mountain, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-57 loss against Decatur on the 17th.
