Hammond Morton was led to victory by Chanteze Holland and Kylah KP Patterson. Holland scored 23 points along with 6 steals, while Patterson dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was Patterson's 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Macon, who scored 6 points.
Gary West Side has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 0-8 record. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for Hammond Morton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gary West Side will face off against Hammond Bishop Noll at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Hammond Bishop Noll focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Friday. As for Hammond Morton, they will head out on the road to face off against Thornton Fractional North at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
