Southern Guilford is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Rockingham County is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Southern Guilford will welcome Rockingham County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Tuesday, Southern Guilford got the win against High Point Central by a conclusive 16-1. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Kenly Brown made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. That triple marked the first that she hit this season.
In other batting news, Southern Guilford got a massive performance out of Naomi Hunt, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Hunt has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Goins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Southern Guilford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .619. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Rockingham County's rock-solid pitcher showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Morehead an 11-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Cougars considering their two-run performance the match before.
Ava Grace Pruitt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Pruitt was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, Zoey Snead was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Macey Hardy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Rockingham County's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Southern Guilford, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
