The Spruce Timberwolves will head out on the road to challenge the Adams Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Spruce had to suffer through a rough 64-18 loss at the hands of North Mesquite. While losing is never fun, Spruce can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1359th, while North Mesquite is ranked 460th).
Meanwhile, Adams beat Conrad 60-51 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Adams.
Adams' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Keiontay Marsh, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Terell Toomas, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Spruce dropped their record down to 0-22 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Adams, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-18 record this season.
Spruce and Adams were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in January, but Spruce came up empty-handed after a 52-51 loss. Can Spruce avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
