Manteca's Ryan Fox recorded the longest rushing play in Valley Oak this season in his game against Weston Ranch last week. Fox's team defeated the Cougars as he sprinted for 73 yards on the play and finished with 90 in all.
Lathrop moved up to 927 from 958 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Spartans climbed the ranks as a result of a 29-3 win over the Spartans.
Sierra's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jake Pruitt threw for 192 and one touchdown and Dakota Conners had 83 yards receiving. On the ground Guillermo Nunez chipped in 101 yards. Bryson Sanders helped Sierra's passing attack out by catching three balls for 66 yards.
Daniel Clemons made the biggest impact on defense this week as Manteca beat Weston Ranch. The 5-foot-9 senior racked up two sacks.
On the ground, Eric Reis's team's Eddie Smith has rushed for 750 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is TJ Galdos. The Manteca star has 18 catches for 271 yards.
One of Valley Oak's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Timberwolves and the Buffaloes face off next week. Pruitt has thrown for 408 yards and one touchdowns this season, while Sal Pena has plagued opposing QBs to the tune of 3.5 sacks.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Manteca takes on Sierra. The Buffaloes are currently in fourth, while Jeff Harbison's team is in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Manteca and the Timberwolves face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Buffaloes comes in having scored 185 this season, while Sierra has scored 202. Manteca scored 34 points last week as it bested Mike Hale's team.
The Timberwolves took down East Union 63-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Pruitt ran for 80 yards in the win.
