The Tyler Knights came into Tuesday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They strolled past Doddridge County with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-40. The victory was just what Tyler needed coming off of a 51-16 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tyler to victory, but perhaps none more so than Braeden Wall, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Grimm, who scored 17 points along with five steals.
Despite the loss, Doddridge County still got an impressive performance from Tenley Paugh, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Paugh continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Akaia Williams was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds.
Tyler's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Doddridge County, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.
Tyler will head out on the road to face off against the Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cameron knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully the Knights like a good challenge. As for Doddridge County, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Ritchie County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
