Two dominant players in JaNyia Cunningham and Chase Thomas are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The South Pointe Stallions will be home for the holidays to greet the Blythewood Bengals at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. South Pointe will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Friday, South Pointe beat Rock Hill 56-48.
Cunningham and Serenity Woods were among the main playmakers for South Pointe as the former dropped a double-double on 19 points and 18 rebounds and the latter scored 22 points. The game was Cunningham's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jacinda Orr, who scored six points along with seven assists.
Meanwhile, Blythewood came up short against Westwood on Friday and fell 49-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Blythewood has scored all season.
South Pointe is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Blythewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
