The Clover Hill Cavaliers will take on the James River Midlothian Rapids at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Clover Hill was handed a nine-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Cosby, sneaking past 6-4. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Titans recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Keller Williams looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Carson Hupp was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. James Nigriny was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, James River Midlothian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Patriots 5-3. That's two games straight that the Rapids have won by exactly two runs.
The team relied heavily on Landon Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Conner Sprouse, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
James River Midlothian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Clover Hill, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Clover Hill has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like James River Midlothian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Clover Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against James River Midlothian in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. Will the Cavaliers repeat their success, or do the Rapids have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
