Penns Grove put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They steamrollered Cumberland 69-16. The win was familiar territory for Penns Grove, who now have seven in a row.
Penns Grove started the matchup off right with 56 first-half points. Meanwhile, Cumberland couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 56-0 heading into the break. Penns Grove were outscored in the second half, but Cumberland's efforts were ultimately no more than a drop in the ocean.
Senior Tyreke Brown was the offensive standout of the match for Penns Grove, as he rushed for 61 yards and 2 touchdowns. Junior Torvon Ransome was in the mix, too, providing Penns Grove with three touchdowns. They added further sheen to their flawless record, now 7-0. Cumberland are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-7.
Penns Grove will take on Glassboro at home at 12:00 PM next week. Cumberland will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Cherry Hill West in two weeks at 6:00 PM.
