Minster has gone 9-1 against Parkway recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Minster's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Parkway's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Minster's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Fort Recovery 1-0. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Wildcats have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Parkway and South Adams meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Starfires with a sharp 12-1 win.
Brayden Bruns was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). Bruns was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jacoby Triplett, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Isaac Beveridge was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Parkway always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Adams only posted an OBP of .261.
The victory made it two in a row for Minster and bumps their season record up to 9-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Parkway, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Minster took their win against Parkway in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
