The Bridgeland Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Cypress Lakes Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeland will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Bridgeland didn't have too much trouble with Cypress Woods at home as they won 31-14. Given Bridgeland's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Cypress Woods is ranked 341st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bridgeland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Noah Allen Cuellar, who rushed for 94 yards and two touchdowns. Mason Simmons also helped out with an impressive 90 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Cypress Lakes was beaten by Cypress Ranch 56-14 on Saturday.
Bridgeland's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-1. As for Cypress Lakes, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bridgeland against Cypress Lakes when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 49-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bridgeland since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
