Softball Recap: West Point Has No Trouble Against Lynn

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Houston Academy, West Point was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Lynn Bears as West Point made off with an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won seven contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

West Point got a great performance from Kortni Baker as she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Baker has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cabri Blackwood was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 13 matches. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Wyndham, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

West Point was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

West Point's win bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Lynn, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-1.

West Point didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-2 loss against Morristown-Hamblen East on the 26th. As for Lynn, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hackleburg at 4:30 p.m. on the 8th.
