The Crest Chargers waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They escaped with a win against Kings Mountain by the margin of a single free throw, 79-78. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for King Rhodes, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last eight games he's played. When it comes to explaining why Kings Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bradley Floyd. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points along with nine rebounds. Floyd hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Nixon, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crest will face off against Forestview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Forestview will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Crest is ranked 37th). As for Kings Mountain, they will head out on the road to square off against Stuart W. Cramer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Stuart W.
