Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Parkview Baptist Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a tough 49-28 defeat at the hands of the Cavaliers on Friday. While losing is never fun, Parkview Baptist can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Calvary Baptist Academy is ranked 14th).
It was another big night for James Simon, who rushed for 324 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry for Calvary Baptist Academy. Another player making a difference was Abram Wardell, who threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Parkview Baptist's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Calvary Baptist Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Parkview Baptist does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Calvary Baptist Academy will square off against Newman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
