The Bovina Mustangs lost against the Gruver Greyhounds back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bovina was outmatched by Gruver at home and fell 82-32. Bovina was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-16.
Bovina lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Miguel Lopez, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Tavera, who scored nine points.
Bovina's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-13. As for Gruver, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-10 record this season.
Bovina will head out on the road to face off against Boys Ranch at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Boys Ranch is on a three-game streak of home losses, Bovina a five-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change. Gruver will take on Sunray at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
