The Liberty Lancers's six-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They secured a 59-55 W over Ulysses. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Liberty to victory were Steven Mcallister and Kieren Otsea. Mcallister scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and two steals, while Otsea scored 15 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Mcallister pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavyn Franz, who scored nine points.
Liberty's victory bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Ulysses, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
Liberty and Hays will face off at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hays has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. Ulysses won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Pine Creek at 11:30 a.m. on January 20th.
