It was another big night for Kenley Missey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryleigh Maxwell, who scored nine points.
When it comes to explaining why St. Paul Lutheran lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mia Sherrill. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Sherrill has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Josie Berkery, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Valley's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Valley will take on the Warriors on Saturday. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they and the Fightin' Tigers will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Clearwater is ranked 435th, while the Giants are ranked 449th).
