The Notre Dame Academy Tritons are taking a road trip to square off against the Manitowoc Lincoln Ships at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Notre Dame Academy will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Notre Dame Academy barely beat Ashwaubenon the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tritons' pitchers stepped up to hand the Jaguars a 6-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering the Tritons have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Notre Dame Academy got a great performance from Ty Bumgardner as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Bumgardner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Frelich, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Cam Michiels also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Manitowoc Lincoln is still undefeated this season after their game against Pulaski on Friday, but Pulaski came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Ships narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Red Raiders 2-0. Those two runs were actually the fewest the Ships have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Manitowoc Lincoln saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Braun, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Braun has posted since back in April of 2024. Benson Dickrell was another, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double.
Notre Dame Academy's record is now 7-1. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, their record now sits at 6-0.
Notre Dame Academy's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Tritons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Manitowoc Lincoln, though, as they've been averaging only 1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Notre Dame Academy continue to outrun the ball?
Notre Dame Academy came out on top in a nail-biter against Manitowoc Lincoln in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tritons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
