The Bethel-Tate Tigers are taking a road trip to challenge the Reading Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bethel-Tate had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Williamsburg on Monday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over the Wildcats. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kaylee Randolph spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kenzie Gillen, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ally Thompson, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bethel-Tate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Williamsburg only managed nine hits.
Reading came out on top against Mariemont on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 10-1 victory. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
Kotah Brisbin was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Brisbin was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Reading let Hailey Mowell and Lillie Riedmiller run wild. Mowell went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two doubles, while Riedmiller went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That home run was Mowell's first of the season. Brooke Androne was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Bethel-Tate's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Reading, their record is now 10-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bethel-Tate hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Reading struggles in that department as they've averaged .409. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bethel-Tate couldn't quite get it done against Reading when the teams last played back in March of 2019 as they fell 12-7. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
