Slinger faced Whitefish Bay in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Owls fell just short of the Blue Dukes by a score of 9-8. The Owls' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Kaleb Burkel made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Williams, who went 3-for-5 with two runs.

Slinger's defeat dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Whitefish Bay, their victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-3.
