Basketball Recap: Wylie Prep Academy Extends Winning Streak to Three

Wylie Prep Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Cornerstone Christian Academy Warriors by a score of 50-39. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 61-29 back in January.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alex Villarreal, who posted seven points and nine rebounds. Brayden Davis was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Wylie Prep Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season.
