Elmira gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Johnson City Wildcats with a sharp  14-0 victory.

 Ava Cornacchio tossed a big game,   not allowing a single  earned run over five innings pitched. What's more,  she posted five  strikeouts, the most she's  had since back in April of 2024.
 On the hitting side,  Addison Taft was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. That's the most  RBI  she has posted since back in April of 2024.  Madison Smith was another key player,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Elmira  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Johnson City only posted  an  OBP of  .360.
 Looking ahead, Elmira will head out on the road to  take on  Horseheads  at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday. Johnson City has  already played their next  matchup (against Southside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
