The Skyline Raiders lost against the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Skyline took a serious blow against Duncanville, falling 78-38. While losing is never fun, Skyline can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Duncanville is ranked first).
Defeat or not, Skyline got some senior leadership from Lily Brown and Naiya Carney. Brown scored 15 points, while Carney. scored 11 points along with two steals.
It was another big night for Mariah Clayton, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Duncanville. Clayton has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Coleman, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 2 assists.
Skyline has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-19 record this season. As for Duncanville, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 28-4.
Skyline does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Duncanville also has no future games currently scheduled.
