Papillion-LaVista South and Papillion-LaVista are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Papillion-LaVista South Titans will square off against the Papillion-LaVista Monarchs at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Papillion-LaVista South knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 contests -- so hopefully Papillion-LaVista likes a good challenge.
Last Monday, everything came up roses for Papillion-LaVista South against Grand Island as the squad secured a 69-36 victory. The Titans have beaten the Islanders the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Islanders has come to flipping the script.

Reece Kircher and Bryson Bahl were among the main playmakers for Papillion-LaVista South as the former went 7-for-11 on his way to 20 points and seven assists and the latter shot 58% from the field to rack up 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. The matchup was Bahl's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Levi Webb, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points.
Westview typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Papillion-LaVista proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wolverines 47-45. The 47-point effort marked the Monarchs' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Papillion-LaVista's win came from a few key players Papillion-LaVista South will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Bryce Vigness, who shot 86% from the field to rack up 14 points. He is on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 67% in the last three games he's played. DeMarcus McCarty was another key player, going 5-for-12 on his way to 14 points and eight boards.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Papillion-LaVista was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They are 13-3 when they've passed the ball that well.
Papillion-LaVista is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points over those games. Papillion-LaVista South pushed their record up to 23-3 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Papillion-LaVista South has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Papillion-LaVista struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.6 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Papillion-LaVista South couldn't quite get it done against Papillion-LaVista when the teams last played back in January as they fell 62-52. Can Papillion-LaVista South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
