The Blackford Bruins typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday the Frankton Eagles proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Bruins 57-39. That's another feather in the cap for Frankton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Frankton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Carmack out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Carmack hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Joey Wright, who scored 13 points along with seven assists.
Blackford's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gage Baker, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Kian Wells who scored ten points. Jacob Dillon was another key contributor, scoring four points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Frankton and bumps their season record up to 9-5. As for Blackford, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frankton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wes-Del at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Wes-Del is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak. As for Blackford, they will head out on the road to face off against Monroe Central at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
