Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Farragut

Farragut had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Karns Beavers 73-47. The Admirals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 21 points or more this season.

Dominic Vanacker was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from long range and dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Parker Lane, who went 5 of 10 en route to 14 points.

Farragut is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 31.5% in those games and 25% outside of them. As for Karns, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Farragut will venture away from home to square off against McMinn Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Karns, they will square off against Oak Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
