High Desert recap September 17, 2013
Bishop was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in High Desert. The Broncos vanquished Mammoth 35-19 earlier in the week.
Frazier Mountain scaled the state rankings by moving to 756 from 786 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Falcons were able to make move up by defeating Grace Brethren 34-28.
Kern Valley's dynamic duo of Dalton Gallis and Zach Bushling proved tough for Morro Bay to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gallis threw for 184 yards and Bushling had 44 yards receiving. Shane Hawk helped Kern Valley's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 47 yards.
The Broncs' dynamic duo of Gallis and Bushling proved to be unstoppable against the Pirates, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Bushling was the best receiver in the league this week as Kern Valley lost to Morro Bay.
Riley Daniels was the most successful running back in High Desert this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 159 yards as Frazier Mountain lost to Jack Greer's team. Teammate Thomas Neirhoff added to the ground attack by rushing for 80 yards.
Gallis put up the best numbers in passing as the Broncs lost to the Pirates.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Kern Valley's Gallis and Cody Little have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-2 quarterback Gallis has thrown for 585 yards this season, while Little has 10 catches for 213 yards. Noah Stevens from Bishop leads the league in rushing with 302 yards.
Russell Heasley's team and the Lancers played the closest game in the league this week, with Russell Heasley's team eventually emerging with a 34-28 victory. Daniels caught 1 passes for 10 yards in the win.
