After soaring to 56 points the game before, the Manchester Blue Devils were a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 48-25 loss at the hands of Schley County. Manchester was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Manchester lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jhazarea Battle, who scored six points along with two steals. Battle continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Macaria Mahone, who scored six points along with two steals.
Schley County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Walker led the charge by scoring 21 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Walker has scored all season. Payton Goodin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Manchester has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Schley County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-10.
Manchester will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Schley County, they will head out on the road to square off against the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenville and the Wildcats are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
