The 10th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard made a stop on Monday, February 23th to recognize the
Montgomery Bell Academy football team on their state championship season under 4th year head coach Marty Euverard. With a record of 11-2, the Big Red finished No. 51 in the nation out of more than 16,000 high school varsity football teams. The Big Red were also were part of the Tour of Champions when they won a state championship in 2007.
The Tour of Champions award presentation took place in the auditorium during an entire school assembly. With 800 students and faculty present as well as Staff Sergeant Cade Hooper of the Tennessee Army National Guard, MaxPreps Representative Dean Craig was introduced and shared the process that MaxPreps goes through to determine the team rankings for the Tour of Champions, and reminded the audience of the tremendous accomplishments of the Big Red Football Team. Dean then introduced Staff Sergeant Hooper who congratulated the team and presented the Army National Guard national ranking trophy to Coach Euverard and the team members, while the student body cheered. The senior players hoisted the trophy into the air and posed proudly for pictures. The entire team stayed for more pictures and interviews after the other students were dismissed.
The players, Coach Euverard, and AD Scott O'Neal were extremely appreciative of MaxPreps and the Tennessee Army National Guard for bringing national recognition to their team. What an exciting opportunity for the MBA Big Red!
Congratulations on Montgomery Bell Academy on the state title and national ranking!
