It was a good run, but the Christian Community Colts unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 43-36 to Horizon Christian Academy.
Christian Community lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anna Nix, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. M.J. Dodd was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five assists.
It was another big night for Nyla Black, who scored 30 points along with eight steals and six rebounds for Horizon Christian Academy. Black has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Holcombe, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
Christian Community's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Horizon Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Christian Community will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. As for Horizon Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Academe of the Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
