The Odyssey Charter School Titans can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 39-20 victory over Master's Academy. That looming 39-20 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Odyssey Charter School yet this season.
Leading Odyssey Charter School to victory were Melissa Mayfield and Christiana Patterson. Mayfield scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and four steals, while Patterson scored 16 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Patterson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Janette Macdonald, who scored three points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Master's Academy saw an underclassman step up: Gianna Guggeri scored seven points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her.
Odyssey Charter School's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Master's Academy, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Odyssey Charter School will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Edward's at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Master's Academy and Port St. Lucie will face off at 5:30 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Port St. Lucie is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
