Lenox Memorial and Monument Mountain are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Millionaires will head out on the road to face off against the Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Lenox Memorial comes in on 16 and Monument Mountain on four.
Monument Mountain's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Lenox Memorial hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Millionaires' pitchers stepped up to hand Amherst-Pelham Regional a 24-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering the Millionaires have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Cassidy Flynn made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with three runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evelyn Julieano, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one home run, ten RBI, and four runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hailey Armold, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Lenox Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Monument Mountain hadn't done well against Mount Greylock Regional recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Spartans put the hurt on the Mounties with a sharp 22-8 victory. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight matches by seven runs or more so far this season.
Lenox Memorial's win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-0. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Monument Mountain, their record now sits at 9-3.
Lenox Memorial was able to grind out a solid win over Monument Mountain when the teams last played back in April, winning 15-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Millionaires since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
