After three games on the road, Quaboag Regional is heading back home. They will take on the Douglas Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Quaboag Regional came up short against Southbridge and fell 61-50.
Meanwhile, Douglas had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They snuck past Blackstone-Millville with a 54-50 victory. Given Douglas' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while Blackstone-Millville is ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Douglas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Adam Dunphy, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Farrell, who scored 16 points.
Quaboag Regional's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-4. As for Douglas, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Everything went Quaboag Regional's way against Douglas when the teams last played back in January of 2018 as Quaboag Regional made off with a 52-32 win. Will Quaboag Regional repeat their success, or does Douglas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
