In what's become a running theme this season, the West Orange Mountaineers gave their fans yet another huge win on Saturday. They blew past Central 62-35 at home. Given West Orange's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 78th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Zoe Francis-Bunkley was nothing short of spectacular: she scored 18 points along with seven steals and six assists. It was the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Anaya Karriem, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
West Orange is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-9.
West Orange will head out on the road to face off against the Phoenix at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 585 points over their last eight matchups. As for Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
