Baseball Recap: Foothill Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lowell

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foothill). They put the hurt on the Lowell Cardinals with a sharp 12-0 victory on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Tyler Straily, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Makoa Elliott also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Foothill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive contests.

Foothill is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Lowell, their loss dropped their record down to 9-4.

Coming up, Foothill is taking a road trip to take on Hilltop at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lowell, they will take on Fallbrook at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
