Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Monroe City beat Helias 34-28 on Friday.

The matchup started off well for Monroe City, whose offense put up 28 first-half points. Helias wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 7 to make it 28-7 heading into the break. Monroe City were outperformed in the second half 6-21 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win. The victory bumped their record up to 6-1. The defeat dropped Helias' record to 3-4.

Next week Monroe City take on Clark County at 7:00 PM. Clark County are cruising in on a five-game winning streak. As for Helias, they will face off against Rock Bridge. Rock Bridge enter the contest touting a three-game streak of increasing point totals.
