The Panther Creek Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 63-27 loss at the hands of Brookesmith. Panther Creek lost against Brookesmith in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 54-27 score last time.
Brookesmith got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trey Toft out in front who scored 18 points. The contest was Toft's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jase Moreno, who scored 13 points.
Panther Creek bumped their record down to 0-2 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 6.8 points per game. As for Brookesmith, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.
Panther Creek will head out on the road to face off against Eden at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Eden is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Brookesmith, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Veribest at 5:00 p.m. Veribest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
