Bendle is 5-0 against Genesee since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bendle Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Genesee Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Bendle will be strutting in after a victory while Genesee will be coming in after a defeat.
Bendle can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. They blew past Atherton 71-35 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Bendle has posted against Atherton since February 21, 2020.
Bendle got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Boyd out in front who scored 15 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malis Firman, who scored seven points along with nine assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Genesee had to suffer through a rough 87-47 loss at the hands of Beecher. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Genesee in their matchups with Beecher: they've now lost three in a row.
Genesee's defeat came about despite a quality game from Conner Rouse, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds. Rouse continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tristin Aguilar, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Bendle's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-4. As for Genesee, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
Friday's match will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Malik Neal and Rouse. Neal has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 13.9 points and 2.4 steals. For his part, Rouse has averaged 16 points, 2.1 steals, and 5.4 rebounds.
Everything came up roses for Bendle against Genesee in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 73-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bendle since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
