Trinity Lutheran is 1-8 against Christian Academy since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Trinity Lutheran Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Christian Academy Warriors at 7:30 p.m. Trinity Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Christian Academy likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, Trinity Lutheran didn't have too much trouble with Shawe Memorial on the road as they won 71-54.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Trinity Lutheran to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hudson Lang, who scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. Lang hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Kowan Gross, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Christian Academy beat Henryville 62-51 on Tuesday. Given Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 110th, while Henryville is ranked 350th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trinity Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. As for Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
Trinity Lutheran took a serious blow against Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 78-51. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Trinity Lutheran was down 39-18.
