Softball Game Preview: Hillcrest Rams vs. Greenville Red Raiders

Hillcrest has gone a perfect 3-0 against Greenville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Rams will look to defend their home field against the Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Hillcrest managed to slip by Riverside the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Rams lost 16-8 to the Warriors on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Rams have suffered since March 15th.

Tatum Lane and Maria Sialmas did some serious damage despite the final result: Lane went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Sialmas went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Abercrombie, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Greenville came up short against Nation Ford on Monday, falling 11-1. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Greenville now has a losing record of 11-12-1. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-12.

Hillcrest came out on top in a nail-biter against Greenville in their previous meeting last Tuesday, sneaking past 1-0. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Red Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
