Falls City extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-5. They lost 15-5 to the Lincoln Christian Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 19-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
Orion Cattrell made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Brock Niedfeldt also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
As for Lincoln Christian, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games.
On Lincoln Christian's side, Jaxon Wobig was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. What's more, Wobig posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Lincoln Christian got a massive performance out of Grant Dehaan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those four hits gave Dehaan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Paxton Bailey, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Falls City has already played their next game, a 14-4 loss against Omaha South on the 28th. As for Lincoln Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 victory against Concordia/Brownell/Omaha Christian Academy on the 27th.
