Dover is on a four-game streak of home wins, while the Eagles are on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Dover Pirates will take on the Mayflower Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Dover didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Eagles, but they still walked away with a 50-45 win.
Dover relied on the efforts of Kenzie Mccrotty, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, and Logan Young, who dropped a game high double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Young is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 18 or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Spradlin, who scored four points.
Meanwhile, Mayflower didn't have too much trouble with the Mustangs on the road on Tuesday as they won 69-51. Given Mayflower's advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while the Mustangs are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Dover is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Mayflower, their victory bumped their record up to 17-4.
Dover couldn't quite finish off the Eagles when the teams last played back in January and fell 61-59. Will Dover have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
